Impact of Giving

Every gift to the Iona Presentation Foundation helps create opportunities that can shape a young person’s future and, in turn, the communities they go on to serve. While our programs are just beginning, the stories of Iona’s past pupils and current scholarship recipients already show the life-changing power of a Presentation education. Their journeys remind us that when we invest in education, we help nurture leaders of courage, compassion, and purpose.

Abby Chittick, Iona Past Pupil, Class of 2007

I’m currently a Design Manager and the President of the National Association of Women in Construction. My career has been driven by a passion for creating opportunities, empowering others, and challenging what’s possible in my industry. Attending an all-girls school like Iona Presentation College taught me from a young age that women are strong, capable, and can achieve anything they set their minds to. That belief has shaped not only my professional journey but also my commitment to advocating for women across the construction industry. The values Iona instilled in me — leadership, compassion, and confidence — continue to guide me in everything I do, from managing complex projects to championing diversity and inclusion at a national level.

Riley-Jane Carroll, Iona Past Pupil, Class of 2022

I graduated from Iona in 2022 and am currently studying Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame and I am eternally grateful for Iona Presentation College. Iona has inspired and empowered me to embrace every opportunity, say yes to new experiences, and step outside of my comfort zone. It was at Iona that I laid the foundations of my passion for service and care for others—foundations I have continued to build upon through volunteering with organisations such as Starlight at Perth Children’s Hospital and mentoring on Zero2Hero camps. Iona instilled in me the values of empathy, compassion, service, and selflessness, which I strive to uphold in my daily life. I am forever grateful to Iona for the guidance, encouragement, and preparation it provided. I would not be half the person I am today—someone I feel truly proud to be—without the experiences and values I gained at Iona.

Siena Ellison, Iona Scholarship Recipient, Class of 2017

My time at Iona has instilled in me a strong sense of integrity, service, and community - values that continue to shape the way I approach both personal and professional aspects of my life. In particular, the Presentation emphasis on “deeds not words” will always be a guiding principle for me in my work as a Lawyer.

Anya Blair, Iona Scholarship Recipient, Class of 2025

I’ve been at Iona since 2012, and it’s hard to imagine growing up anywhere else. Over the years, Iona has given me so much more than an education — it’s given me a sense of belonging, strength, and belief in myself. Surrounded by people who lead with kindness and courage, I’ve learned what it truly means to live out the Presentation values. Iona has shaped me into someone who wants to make a difference in the world, just as Iona has made a difference for me.

Sienna Hathrill, Iona Scholarship Recipient, Class of 2025

As I approach graduation, I am incredibly honoured to reflect on my journey as the very fortunate recipient of a scholarship at Iona Presentation College. This recognition of my achievements across academics, music, sports, and leadership has motivated me to pursue excellence with passion and purpose. Over the past six years, Iona has provided an environment that has nurtured my confidence, challenged me to grow, and inspired me to serve others. I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity. Thank you for selecting me, believing in me, and helping to shape my future. I hope my story encourages future students to dream boldly, work hard, and embrace every opportunity that comes their way.

Sarah-Grace Luu, Iona Scholarship Recipient, Class of 2026

I am immensely grateful to be a scholarship recipient at Iona Presentation College. It is truly a nurturing environment that encourages me to become a better version of myself and to serve the community with compassion. My peers and teachers continually inspire me to strive for excellence and develop a love of learning. Iona not only furthers my academic knowledge, but also provides the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of co-curricular activities to broaden my horizons. This has led me to have the privilege of travelling both interstate and internationally to represent my school with pride. An Ionian education has allowed me to form lifelong friendships and create unforgettable memories.

Amy Mance, Iona Scholarship Recipient, Class of 2022

At Iona, I received more than just a high-quality education; I was instilled with a set of values that place courage, excellence and social justice at the centre of my endeavours beyond school. Throughout my time at Iona, I was consistently encouraged to pursue ambitious goals while maintaining a diverse range of interests, which has proved instrumental in my life post-school. I will always reflect on my Iona education with a profound sense of gratitude to Iona's teachers and to my parents for choosing Iona for my sister and me.

Hanna-Grace Tedjasaputra, Iona Scholarship Recipient, Class of 2025

Going to Iona with the aid of a scholarship has opened so many doors and opportunities. Without it, I would not have been able to have such exceptional teaching and meet such incredible people. This scholarship has allowed me to become a better person, helping me learn what it means to be compassionate and service-focused. I'm truly grateful that I've been able to be a part of such a warm, supportive community at Iona.
